Dog-Friendly Restaurants Along the Scottsdale Greenbelt
One of the best parts of walking the Scottsdale Greenbelt with a dog is that the outing does not have to end when the walk is over.
There are quite a few restaurants near the Greenbelt with patios where dogs are welcome, especially around Shea, McCormick Ranch, Chaparral, Old Town, Thomas, McDowell, and McKellips. Some are full sit-down restaurants. Some are casual order-and-go spots. Some are better for breakfast, some are better after a long walk, and some are perfect when your dog is tired enough to quietly settle under the table.
My Shetland Sheepdog Lucy has strong opinions about this. She especially knows Randy’s Restaurant near Chaparral. We go there often while walking the Greenbelt, and she has learned the routine. She settles under the table, watches everything, and is very happy to be included.
This guide is meant to be practical. These are the dog-friendly patio restaurants and casual food stops I would look at if I were planning a Greenbelt walk with a dog.
Patio rules can change, especially during summer heat, private events, or busy weekends, so it is always smart to call ahead if you are making a special trip.

Ling & Louie’s is a casual Asian restaurant with a dog-friendly patio and a menu that has a little bit of everything. It is a good option if you want something more interesting than standard patio food after walking the northern part of the Greenbelt.
Good choices include sushi rolls, calamari, noodles, rice dishes, and Asian-inspired comfort food. This is a better choice for a dog who is already calm after a walk, not one that still needs to run around.
McCormick Ranch and Hayden Road Area
Yo Pauly’s New York Pizza Co.
Address:8880 E Via Linda, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
Food: New York-style pizza, wings, pasta, salads
Dog setup: A few dog-friendly outdoor tables
Best for: Casual pizza after a Greenbelt walk
Yo Pauly’s is a simple, casual pizza stop near the McCormick Ranch section of the Greenbelt. Dogs can join you outside, but table service is not usually available, so someone may need to wait outside with your dog while another person orders.
This is best for an easy slice, wings, or a low-key meal when you do not need a full-service patio experience.
Andreoli Italian Grocer
Address:8880 E Via Linda, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
Food: Italian sandwiches, salads, pastries, antipasti, classic Italian dishes
Dog setup: Well-behaved leashed dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area
Best for: A relaxed Italian lunch near McCormick Ranch
Andreoli is a Scottsdale favorite for serious Italian food. It feels more like a neighborhood Italian market and café than a standard restaurant, which is part of the appeal.
The outdoor seating can work well with a calm dog, especially if you are stopping for a sandwich, salad, pastry, or coffee. Because it is a popular local spot, this is one where I would be thoughtful about timing and avoid showing up with a dog during the busiest rush.
PHX Beer Co. Brewery & Lakeside Restaurant
Address:8300 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
Food: Brewery food, burgers, sandwiches, paninis, beer
Dog setup: Spacious dog-friendly lakeside patio with a dog menu
Best for: One of the best dog-friendly patio stops along the Greenbelt
PHX Beer Co. is one of the most useful dog-friendly restaurants near the Greenbelt because the patio is large, scenic, and right by the water at Mercado del Lago.
This is a great stop if you are walking near McCormick Ranch, Marguerite Lake, Chaparral, or the Hayden corridor. It feels like a natural Greenbelt restaurant because of the lake setting.
They also offer dog-friendly menu items like a burger or grilled chicken breast for dogs, which makes it feel more intentionally dog-welcoming than a regular patio that simply allows dogs.
Butters Pancakes & Café
Address:8300 N Hayden Rd #F104, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
Food: Breakfast, pancakes, waffles, omelets, crepes, burgers, salads
Dog setup: Dog-friendly outdoor tables, pets must stay on the ground
Best for: Breakfast or brunch after a morning Greenbelt walk
Butters is one of the best breakfast options near the Greenbelt. It is located at Mercado del Lago, near PHX Beer Co., so it works well for the McCormick Ranch and Hayden Road section.
This is a great choice if you like to walk early before the day heats up and then stop for breakfast. Dogs are allowed outside, but they need to stay on the ground, which is standard and reasonable for a busy breakfast patio.

Dog setup: Leashed dogs welcome at outdoor tables
Best for: A quieter patio meal near McCormick Ranch
Kitchen West is a pet-friendly restaurant near McCormick Ranch with outdoor tables for leashed dogs. It is a good option if you want something a little more relaxed and resort-adjacent rather than a busy Old Town patio.
This could work well after walking the Hayden to Indian Bend section or the McCormick Ranch area of the Greenbelt.

The Vig is a practical McCormick Ranch option if you are walking near Indian Bend, Chaparral, or the central Greenbelt and do not want to go into Old Town.
It is a good fit for a dog owner who wants an easy patio, decent parking, and a casual but slightly polished meal. Since dog policies can vary by location and season, I would call ahead before making this your main plan.

Chaparral and Indian School Area
Randy’s Restaurant
Address:7904 E Chaparral Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85250
Food: Classic diner, breakfast, lunch, dinner
Dog setup: Large dog-friendly patio
Best for: Local breakfast or a relaxed meal after walking the Greenbelt
Randy’s is one of my favorite practical Greenbelt stops because it feels local, easy, and comfortable. It is family-owned, old-school, and the kind of place where regulars actually go.
Lucy knows Randy’s. We stop there often when we are walking near Chaparral and the Greenbelt. She sits under the table, watches everyone, and is very happy to be part of the outing. For me, that is exactly what a dog-friendly restaurant should feel like. Not fancy, not complicated, just welcoming and easy.
A few notes: Randy’s is cash only, and the appeal is the local diner feel. If you want pancakes, eggs, burgers, sandwiches, or a straightforward meal with your dog on the patio, this is a great pick.
R.T. O’Sullivan’s Sports Grill
Address:7919 E Thomas Rd #101, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Best for: Watching a game after a Greenbelt walk
R.T. O’Sullivan’s is one of the better dog-friendly sports bar options near the Greenbelt. The covered patio is spacious, climate-controlled, and right by the Greenbelt area, which makes it especially useful if you are walking near Thomas Road.
Staff are known to be welcoming to dogs, and the patio setup makes this a practical stop when the weather is not perfect. There are TVs, shaded seating, and enough space that it does not feel like you are squeezing your dog into a tiny sidewalk table.
Old Town and Civic Center Area
AZ88
Address:7353 E Scottsdale Mall, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Food: Modern tavern, burgers, sandwiches, salads, cocktails
Dog setup: Dog-friendly patio seating
Best for: A polished Old Town patio after walking the Civic Center area
AZ88 is one of the best dog-friendly patios near the Civic Center and Old Town. It has an artsy Scottsdale feel, good cocktails, and a patio that works well if your dog is calm after a walk.
This is not the place I would choose for a dog that still needs to burn energy. It is better for a dog that can tuck under the table while you enjoy lunch, dinner, or a drink.
Rehab Burger Therapy
Address:7210 E 2nd St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Food: Burgers, fries, casual American food
Dog setup: Outdoor patio
Best for: Casual burgers with your dog in Old Town
Rehab Burger Therapy is casual, fun, and easy to understand. If you want a burger after walking around the Old Town or Civic Center area, this is a good dog-friendly patio option.

Food: French café, pastries, breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts
Dog setup: Dog-friendly outdoor seating, limited patio tables
Best for: A small café stop with a calm dog
Merci is a cozy French café and bakery with outdoor seating where dogs are welcome. The food leans French and café-style, with croissants, omelets, quiche, sandwiches, crepes, macarons, and dinner options.
Because patio tables are limited, this is one where calling ahead is smart. This is best for a calm dog and a quieter meal, not a big group patio hangout.
Bootleggers Modern American Smokehouse

Food: BBQ, smoked meats, burgers, cocktails
Dog setup: Dog-friendly outdoor tables, call ahead suggested
Best for: BBQ and drinks in Old Town
Bootleggers is a modern smokehouse with a rustic feel, BBQ, burgers, brisket, cocktails, and a dog-friendly outdoor patio.
The outdoor tables can be popular, so it is worth calling ahead if you are bringing your dog. This is a good option if you want something heartier after a longer walk.
Brat Haus
Address:3622 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Food: German-inspired food, sausages, schnitzel, beer
Dog setup: Dog-friendly open-air patio when weather allows, dog menu available
Best for: A fun casual patio with games
Brat Haus is one of the more dog-forward Old Town options because furry companions have their own dog menu. The patio has games like ping pong, darts, bag toss, and giant Jenga, which gives it a relaxed beer garden feel.
One important note: the patio may close to dogs during high summer temperatures, so call ahead before going with your dog.
Daily Dose Old Town Bar & Grill

Food: Breakfast, brunch, coffee, cocktails
Dog setup: Dog-friendly patio with a dog menu
Best for: Brunch with your dog
Morning Squeeze is one of the strongest dog-friendly breakfast and brunch options near Old Town. The patio is dog-friendly, and dogs even have their own menu.
This is a great option if you walk early, then want coffee, pancakes, eggs, or brunch food with your dog. It is popular, so I would go earlier if you want a calmer patio experience.

Best for: A lively Old Town patio stop
Diego Pops is a popular Old Town spot for tacos, margaritas, and a fun patio scene. It is a good option if you want something bright, casual, and social after exploring the Civic Center or Old Town portion of the Greenbelt.
Because it can get busy, this is better for dogs who are comfortable with crowds and patio energy.

Dog setup: Dog-friendly patio reported by local patio guides
Best for: Brunch or drinks in a lively Old Town setting
The Montauk is another Old Town patio option with a social brunch and cocktail feel. It is not a quiet hidden patio, so I would choose it for a confident dog who is comfortable under the table while people are coming and going.

My Practical Recommendation
If you are walking the Greenbelt with your dog and want the easiest choices, I would keep it simple.
For the north and central Greenbelt, go to PHX Beer Co. if you want a lakeside patio, Butters for breakfast, or Randy’s if you are near Chaparral and want a local diner feel.
For Old Town and Civic Center, choose AZ88 if your dog is calm and you want something polished, Morning Squeeze for brunch, or Boondocks if you want a bigger, more relaxed patio.
For the south Greenbelt, R.T. O’Sullivan’s, Duke’s, Fat Daddy’s, and George’s Famous Gyros are practical dog-friendly stops depending on what kind of food you want.
If Lucy got to choose, she would probably pick Randy’s first because she knows it so well. She settles under the table, watches the patio, and gets to be part of the walk instead of just the reason for it.
That is really what makes a dog-friendly Greenbelt restaurant work. It does not need to be fancy. It just needs a welcoming patio, easy access, a little shade, water nearby, and enough room for your dog to relax while you enjoy the stop.
